King Benjamin Says Humility1 Leads to Humility2

Reading Mosiah, chapter 4, I noticed that King Benjamin seemed to be showing how the steppingstones to Zion, Humility1 and Humility2, relate to each other. Humility1 is a belief that not only does God live, but His wisdom dwarfs that of man, and, that we benefit from following His will. Benjamin speaks to this in verse nine:

“Believe in God; believe that he is, and that he created all things, both in heaven and in earth; believe that he has all wisdom, and all power, both in heaven and in earth; believe that man doth not comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend.”

Then in verses 13-16, Benjamin lists behaviors indicative of someone who harbors Humility2 – “esteem[ing] [his] brother as [him]self”. In reading through these verses, one sees how Zion would be easily built by such people.

In the interim verses, 10-12, Mosiah seems to be saying, “If you have Humility1 and sincerely repent to the point that God forgives your sins and envelopes you in His love, then you will naturally have Humility2 – a bone-deep love and respect for your fellowmen”.

In summary: Humility1 => Sincere Repentance => Humility2

Boom! Blueprint for building Zion was already revealed to the prophets?!! I was thunderstruck by this book. Building Zion involves the application of strategic economics? We've been neglecting our duty for over 100 years? What is going on?The long lost principles in this book are like the Sword in the Stone, half buried in moss and overgrowth. The truth has been here all along, we just haven't recognized it.
